Are we just friends? The ex girlfriend?

Tough situation. I have found it hard to stay friends with girls I have dated. The longer the relationship, the deeper the feelings. I was hesitant to date the girl I am dating now because I was afraid that I would ruin our friendship if things didn't work out. My gut feeling says that she still has feelings for you. I had a very similar situation with a girl. Once I told her I wanted to take things to the next level she freaked. Things quickly fell apart. We tried to stay friends but there was always a lot of tension and close calls. I would hate for you to lose a good friend but I would be careful to avoid getting hurt again.
